Multiples & Days of the Month!

Suppose the 1st day of a month is a Thursday.

On which days of the month will Saturdays fall, assuming it is a 31-day month?

How does this connect to your knowledge of multiples?

(Don't use a calendar or a table to help you; try to work this one out mentally!)

Post your answer and reasoning as a comment!

  1. Saturday will fall on the 3rd, the 10th, the 17th, the 24th, and the 31st

  2. If Thursday is the first, then Saturday is the third. So now I can just add seven to find all my answers. Saturday is the 10th, the 17th, the 24th and the 31st.

  3. the next Saturday after Thursday would be the 3rd. so then I add one one week on to that and so on to see the other Saturdays are on the 10th, 17th, 24th and the 31st

  4. Saturday will fall the 3rd, the 10th, the 17th, the 24th, and the 31st. I know because if Thursday was 1st then Friday is 2nd and Saturday is 3rd, then I can keep adding 7 to that because there are 7 days in a week

  5. Since Thursday is the 1st day, then Saturday is the 3rd so Saturday falls on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and the 31st.

  7. Since the Thursday is on the 1st, Saturday will be on the 3rd and from then on just add 7 so it is the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and the 31st.

  8. Thursday is the first, so Saturday must be on the third. Since there are 7 days of the week, Saturday will be on 3, 10, 17, 24, and the 31st.
