FAQs

These questions are frequently asked by students.  If you still have a question, please ask me in person or via email!

1. Can I retake my formative assessment?
Yes, you are able to retake your formative assessment as an opportunity for extra practice.  Your grade in PowerSchool, however, will not change.

2. Can I retake my summative assessment?
Yes, if you score a 0, 1, or 2 on a summative you may ask to retake it.  Retaking an assessment involves meeting with Mr. Munden and doing extra practice to show you have put forth good effort to earn a higher mark on your retake. In addition you must complete any missing work from the unit. Be sure to complete the "So You Want To Do A Retake?" form in advance (this requires a parent signature). Without the competed form you will not be allowed to do a retake.

3. Can I come in for extra help?
Yes, you can come in for extra help during break and lunch on most days.  Sometimes I will ask you to come in and sometimes you can ask to come in.  If you want to come in voluntarily, be sure you ask me in advance so I can make sure I will be in my room.

4. Do you have any additional study or practice resources?
Yes!!!!  Check out the Unit Resources page.  It is organized by topic so it is very easy to look up what you need.

5. Can I bring you some food?
Yes. I enjoy lemon squares and sushi.

6. Why do we have so much homework?
You don't have so much homework. Homework assignments should take about 30-40 minutes at most. Split over two nights (since you have math class every other day) that means you have about 15-20 minutes of math homework per night. Given how important math is, 15 minutes is a small price to pay for greatness. :)

7. But why do we have homework every class?
You will have homework after most classes (but not every class!). It takes a lot of practice to become really good at something; homework is part of the practice you need to become really good at math. Homework also helps you remember better what you learned in the previous class. (Sometimes we forget what we had for breakfast.. let alone what we learned in math the previous day!)
