About Mr. Munden

Kristoffer Munden is a 6th grade math teacher at Singapore American School.  Mr. Munden loves being a teacher, and loves teaching math even more.  He began teaching at SAS in the 2014-2015 school year and quickly fell in love with the SAS community and Singapore.

Like many SAS students, Mr. Munden finds it difficult to answer the "Where are you from?" question because he is a TCK (third culture kid)!  His parents are from Washington in the United States and the Philippines, but he was born in Saudi Arabia.  Growing up, he lived in Algeria, Washington state, Botswana, Egypt, North Carolina, and the Philippines.  He moved away from the Philippines after high school to attend university at Boston College in Massachusetts. After graduating college Mr. Munden moved to teach in Denver, Colorado.

When he's not planning lessons or thinking about math (which is a good majority of his day!), Mr. Munden enjoys trying new foods, exploring new places in Singapore and abroad, and watching his favorite TV shows like Parks and Recreation and The Daily Show.  Mr. Munden also loves to ski, but because there isn't much skiing in the tropics he has learned how to dive! He loves a good joke and tries his best to keep his classroom music playlist up to date.
